Bruno’s Deli Still Set for June Opening

1 min read

Your Whispers staff is like Gio Bruno: We’ll believe Bruno’s Deli is open when it’s open.

Despite our skepticism born of some bad luck — days of torrential rain, for example, that soaked equipment and necessitated roof repairs and repainting — it’s looking like the downtown Little Rock deli may be open in early to mid-June.

Bruno said late last week that he expected to get the keys to the building — right next door to his restaurant, the venerable Bruno’s Little Italy — in a few days. At least two weeks after that, he plans a soft open of the deli, at 308 Main St. “Fingers crossed, but I don’t trust any dates until they actually occur,” he said.

The restaurant Soul Fish Café is set to open next door to the deli.

Soul Fish Café, based in Memphis, offers fried catfish, pork chops, collard greens and po’boy sandwiches.
