Acorn Influence

Myra Dallas knows exactly how much success and growth Acorn Influence has seen since its founding in 2014.

Dallas was “Employee No. 2” at the social media marketing company. Now she is president, overseeing 20 employees who work with a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurial startups.

The company’s growth has been so steady that one of the early investors, New Road Capital Partners, bought out founder Stephanie Funk in 2017. The success hasn’t surprised Dallas.

“You have to dream it,” Dallas said. “You have to have goals, and we’re not done yet. When you look at when we first started to where we are today, the advancements in every aspect of our business, I can smile. It’s a nice reflection that we have come so far and exceeded [our goals] every step of the way.”

Dallas said Acorn isn’t done yet. The company uses a roster of thousands of social media influencers to advance brand recognition for its clients. In 2019, Acorn plans to offer more services, but Dallas said those were still under lock and key.

Dallas said Acorn invested heavily in technology and program developers last year. Acorn brings all its services together in one place, which saves its clients time and effort.

“For us, technology allows us the ability to make doing business easier and faster for our clients,” Dallas said. “What we have been able to develop is a technology platform that consolidates everything. In today’s world you’re dealing with so many different devices, from your inbox to your smartphone. We have been able to streamline our offerings, bringing it all into one place. It’s a one-stop shop where they can log in and see everything from soup to nuts.”

The technological strength helped Acorn keep ahead in an industry that changes rapidly.

“The space has changed exceptionally,” Dallas said. “There are days the algorithms and the platforms that worked yesterday don’t work for us today. We have to be nimble with a finger on the pulse of what is going on.”
