Conger Wealth Management

2015 // Arkansas Community Foundation's Outstanding Philanthropic Corporations

Little Rock

Nonprofits that promote female education and literacy have long drawn the philanthropic interests of Cynthia Conger, president and CEO of Conger Wealth Management.

As her firm has prospered, Conger has deployed more of its resources on issues near and dear to her heart. She has dedicated 2 percent of her firm’s annual gross revenue toward philanthropic endeavors.

Two years ago, Conger started a matching program as an added enticement for her staff to make cash contributions to nonprofits. For every dollar an employee donates to charity, Conger will match the gift up to $1,000.

“Giving back to the community and to those less fortunate has made an impact on my life, and I wanted to encourage my employees to participate in that,” Conger said. “I try to lead by example. When they see me giving, it’s made them want to do more themselves.”

She and her staff annually select a nonprofit to which they devote volunteer time together as a company. The staff members also share their time and expertise through workshops to promote financial literacy and investing knowledge.

Conger is a director at the University of Arkansas Foundation Inc., which oversees charitable gifts to the UA System’s six universities, five community colleges and the Clinton School of Public Service. She also serves on the board of the UALR Friends of the Arts.

Conger recently completed nine years of board service at the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, which promotes education and philanthropy. She also just rolled off from nine years of service on the board of directors of Professional Counseling Associates, which offers mental health services for people of all ages.
