Odds are if you’ve lived in Arkansas, you know the name Crain. What began more than 70 years ago when the Crain family started selling automotive parts has grown into the state’s largest family-owned dealership group, representing nearly every major automotive brand across more than 20 locations.
The company, now led by the third and fourth generations of the Crain family, employs 1,400 people across Arkansas and offers everything from first-time car purchases to company fleets.
Outside of the automotive industry, Crain Family Cos. invests in residential and commercial real estate, as well as hotels across the southeastern United States.
One of the company’s biggest challenges is keeping up with rapid changes in the industry, like electric vehicles and digital retailing. Crain’s leadership team aims to continually innovate company processes and technology, implementing new services like online tools, same-day delivery and a simple exchange policy.
