A marriage of engineering and environmental expertise was the spark that gave life to ECCI in Little Rock, and the union has been bountiful.

Founded in 1993 by three engineers with hazardous waste experience, the company began its climb as environmental regulations increasingly applied to major and even minor industrial projects. The firm was built to provide efficient environmental and engineering solutions for industries looking to improve growth and profitability.

The company has 22 employees, and keeping them happy is part of a corporate culture that company President Julie McCallister sees as one of the company’s greatest strengths.

“Our overall goal is to make sure plants are up and running as smoothly as possible, while meeting all state and local regulatory requirements,” McCallister said.

On the environmental side of the firm, ECCI helps companies stay in compliance with environmental regulations, both state and federal, “along with providing permitting expertise and sustainability planning,” McCallister said.

The engineering side of the business is largely mechanical, including the design of tanks, pipes, concrete structures, and other complex industrial systems. “However, we do also have chemical, civil and environmental engineers that are heavily involved in our projects,” said Project Engineer Kylie Parker.

“Arkansas has done a fantastic job of being industry-friendly and there are so many people who are working hard to bring new industries, companies and opportunities to the state,” McCallister said.

“We’ve been lucky to see multiple commitments of company relocations and expansions across the state just this year. Massive infrastructure projects and new sustainability initiatives are a great indication that the need for engineering and environmental work is going to continue to be strong for the near future and beyond. ECCI has always worked as closely as possible with government and industry leadership to stay ahead of the curve on new initiatives, but we will always provide the reliable, continuous work that has been so successful for us thus far.”
