Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas

2024 Arkansas Business of the Year // Nonprofit Organization of the Year

Little Rock

Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas has an ambitious goal for its fiscal year: complete 10 houses. But that’s only part of what’s in store this year for the 34-year-old nonprofit, an independently chartered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the world’s largest nonprofit homebuilder.

Since 1989, the organization has built and rehabbed 240 homes in central Arkansas, believing that everyone needs a “decent, affordable place to live.”

This year, Executive Director Kelly Fleming, who has led Habitat since 2020, aims to grow Habitat’s quasi endowment and continue the success of its two annual fundraisers, Baggo, Brats & Blues and Gratitude Gathering.

Habitat is also on pace to do $1.5 million in annual sales volume at its primary revenue driver, ReStore, a home improvement store and donation center that sells gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more.
