After nearly 40 years in business, McCauley Services has grown from a central Arkansas termite and pest control venture into a multistate enterprise supported by 55 employees.
Owners Justin and Zac McCauley acquired the family business from their father, Mike, 18 months ago. The elder McCauley laid the foundation of the venture in Hot Springs in 1983 and moved the operation to Saline County a decade later.
After entering the Benton-Bryant market, the company launched offices in Farmington in northwest Arkansas in 2012 and the Tulsa market in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in 2015. The company also has made inroads in the Memphis and Shreveport markets.
“The last 10-12 years has really been about expanding out and growing our footprint,” said Justin McCauley, who took over from his father as CEO in 2010.
The main business of the company, based in Bryant, remains termite and pest control, but service offerings have broadened to include electrical and handyman home repair.
McCauley’s book of business has shifted during the years from an 80-20 mix of residential-commercial customers. Commercial clients now account for about half of McCauley Services’ business. “We looked at where we can differentiate ourselves, and we’ve really dug into the commercial market,” said Justin McCauley.
McCauley, 2022 president of the National Pest Management Association’s board of directors, received the trade group’s Young Entrepreneur Award in 2012. He was the 2020 board of trustees chairman of the Pest Management Foundation, a nonprofit affiliate that promotes the advancement of the pest management industry through education, research and training.
The McCauleys have worked hard to instill their strong family values and high quality standards into the business practices and company culture. A common charity partner for McCauley Services across its footprint is the Boys & Girls Club. “We have a passion for creating healthy environments for children,” said Jen McCauley, marketing director at McCauley Services.
