Bank of Little Rock Mortgage Corp. doesn’t deploy any secret weapons when vying for business, often against much larger competitors.

“We’re just a plain vanilla mortgage lender trying to get you the best deal we can,” said Scott McElmurry, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of Little Rock, has established itself as a leader among residential mortgage lenders since launching in July 1998.

In Pulaski County, the firm has built a market share among mortgage companies that often hovers around 20 percent and approached 25 percent during 2008. Annual home loan volume for the company typically tops $100 million in the county.

“We became the largest residential mortgage lender in Pulaski County starting in 2006 and have consistently maintained that,” McElmurry said.

Bank of Little Rock Mortgage was founded largely on the talent of former staffers at Little Rock’s U.S. Mortgage Co. When it closed, McElmurry and others banded together to get back in the game with a crew of seven in a single location.

Today, Bank of Little Rock Mortgage employs 33 with offices in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Benton, Cabot, Maumelle and Russellville.
Adopting a marketing credo of “Real People, Real Results,” the company prides itself on customer service and credits this strong point for powering its success.
