Gary Griffin is all smiles as his namesake real estate firm enjoys continued prosperity.

Total sales at The Griffin Co. Realtors hit $58 million in 2001, a near 35 percent jump over the previous year. The performance comes on the heels of a whopping 54 percent increase in 2000.

“I definitely want to give the Lord [Jesus] credit for our success,” said Griffin, co-owner of the Springdale firm.

Founded in 1978 by Griffin with two sales agents, the company was launched with startup financing courtesy of his own back pocket.

Phillip Taldo became his partner in 1982, and the partnership has worked well over the years as the company keeps growing.

A veteran staff has provided a foundation for continued success, Griffin said. The firm’s seasoned talent includes Liz Means, 19 years with the company; Nettie Everett, 17 years; and Ruth Pianalto, 14 years.

An office staff of 11 provides support for 33 sales agents. The Griffin Co. Realtors ranks among the top five real estate firms in northwest Arkansas.

The company’s achievements today help soften the sacrifices of building a going concern during the early lean years.

The full-service real estate agency handles residential, commercial property and more across the region. A sister company, One Springdale Inc., handles the residential/commercial development end of the business.

Plans call for the company to move next year and occupy a third of a new 30,000-SF facility. Construction of the three-story building is set to begin this spring just north of Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall.

Griffin said the company is focused on providing honest and quality work and striving for excellent real estate

service. Community involvement is a source of pride for the company.
