The Belford Group

The Belford Group lately doubled its staff, moved out of its owners’ basement into office space and, during the course of the past three years, has built 120 websites and tripled its annual revenue.

The branding, marketing and website and software development business started out as a software company that Barry and Angela Belford bought in 1999.

The Belfords, who are a husband-and-wife team, initially turned the company into a two-person consulting service. Angela Belford helped companies systemize their business processes so Barry Belford could build software platforms for them. The pair expanded the consultancy in 2008 and grew it to the 12-employee comprehensive marketing firm it’s become.

The Belford Group’s clients tend to be companies with annual revenue ranging from $200,000 to $2 million that previously didn’t have many marketing options.

“They’re big enough to afford us, but not big enough to have a marketing person in-house,” CEO Angela Belford said. The Belford Group offers consistent company branding across mediums such as brochures, business cards, social networking sites, truck wraps and websites; e-commerce services; electronic facilities management; Web and mobile application development; sales software design; social media strategizing; and online event registering, among other marketing and software work.

Belford’s goals for the company include adding a boutique side that allows clients to hire The Belford Group to become more heavily involved in its branding and marketing through speech writing, press release compiling, video producing and other services. Belford expects The Belford Group to be a $1 million company within three years.
