Christian Brothers Automotive's future home at 2870 E. Joyce Blvd. in Fayetteville was most recently the location of a Happy Bays Car Wash.
Onward Christian Brothers
Christian Brothers Automotive is advancing its plan to open an auto repair shop in Fayetteville.
Christian Brothers, through its CBH Properties Fayetteville LLC, bought a 1-acre lot at 2870 E. Joyce Blvd. for $575,000 a month ago; it has been used as a Happy Bays Car Wash.
The company, based in Katy, Texas, got the lot rezoned from Neighborhood Commercial to Urban Thoroughfare by the Fayetteville City Planning office in January.
The seller was WLH LLC, led by Robert Lewis of Fayetteville.
Lewis acquired the property in 2011 as part of a $1.1 million deal.
The city of Fayetteville has issued a demolition permit to C.R. Crawford Construction so the proverbial wrecking ball ought to be swinging sometime soon. The location is just west of the intersection of Joyce and Crossover Road.
Christian Brothers got a construction loan of nearly $1.8 million from Origin Bank in Houston, and also a $448,000 loan from its sister subsidiary CBH Properties Investments LLC.
Christian Brothers was co-founded by Mark Carr in 1982 in Mission Bend, Texas, a suburb of Houston. According to its website, it had 150 locations in 19 states, including a location in Bentonville.
