Two former Radio Disney stations, including one in Little Rock, have been sold to Salem Communications in a $2 million deal.
According to documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission, the stations are KDIS-FM, 99.5, in Little Rock and KRDY-AM, 1160, in San Antonio. It is the company’s first network in Arkansas.
Disney began silencing and selling its medium-sized market radio stations this summer.
Salem, based in Camarillo, Calif., is publicly traded and is one of the largest broadcasters of Christian content in the nation. It has about 100 stations, both AM and FM, across the country; in 2012 it had net income of $4.42 million on revenue of $229 million.
Salem has not yet begun broadcasting on KDIS. Calls left at the company were not returned by press time.
