Country Star Justin Moore Continues as KABZ Co-Host

2 min read

Country music performer Justin Moore has signed a contract to remain with KABZ-FM, The Buzz, as co-host of the sports talk radio station’s “Morning Mayhem” program, the station announced Thursday.

Moore, who has had chart hits with songs like “Small Town USA” and “Why We Drink,” made his debut with co-hosts Roger Scott and former University of Arkansas linebacker David Bazzel on New Year’s Eve 2001 in a remote broadcast from the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The Hogs won that game on New Year’s Day 2002, beating Penn State 24-10.

A Grant County native, Moore said in a news release that it’s a challenge to do the KABZ show because of a busy touring schedule, but he has enjoyed his role on the radio and is “thrilled to be back for my second year as co-host of ‘Morning Mayhem.’

He praised his co-hosts and the station for “creative freedom,” and said he has enjoyed making people laugh. “I would also like to thank [KABZ general manager] Justin Acri and [Signal Media CEO] Terri Mahan for their willingness to work with my hectic schedule.”

Acri said the station was excited to have Moore back and called him “one of the most entertaining people in Arkansas radio.” Moore made his recording debut in 2009 and has had three No. 1 records, the news release said.

“Morning Mayhem” is the top-rated morning program in the central Arkansas market, and it also has a new producer, Josh Neighbors. A Virginia native and University of Missouri graduate, Neighbors previously produced college sports programming for Sirius XM and was the play-by-play announcer for the University of Richmond Spiders.

Along with producing the morning show, Neighbors will announce games on 103.7, something he started recently at the Class AAA high school basketball championships.
