Nancy Cozart has been named executive director of Washington Regional Medical Foundation in Fayetteville.

Cozart had served as the interim director of the foundation since November. She has been with the foundation for eight years, starting as director of development and gift planning.

Before working in the health care sector, Cozart practiced law and was the director of development of the University of Arkansas School of Law.

Michelle Phillips and Tesse Tran have been chosen to lead the care team at the newly opened Baptist Health Urgent Care in Fort Smith. Phillips and Tran are both nurse practitioners and both worked at the original Baptist Health Urgent Care location on Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith.

Scott Jones has joined CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs as director of the Inpatient Senior Behavioral Health Unit. Jones has experience in the field of inpatient psychiatry as a therapist. He also has experience as a clinical coordinator and program director in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Jones recently served as program manager at Signet Health in Hot Springs.

Dr. Saira Hassan

Dr. Saira Hassan has joined the Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a specialist in cancer of the genitourinary or urogenital system, which includes the urinary and reproductive systems.

She will also serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the College of Medicine as well as a researcher.

Before joining UAMS, Hassan practiced oncology with Texas Oncology at El Paso and worked in Pakistan in a tertiary care referral cancer center.

She has worked for more than 10 years in oncology. Hassan got her degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, and her residency was done at the University of Texas in Houston.

Pearl McElfish of the UAMS Rockefeller Cancer Institute ()

Pearl McElfish has been named associate director of community outreach and engagement for the Rockefeller Cancer Institute. McElfish will be responsible for creating a statewide network to support rural and minority communities in cancer prevention, education and navigation to treatment. She previously was vice chancellor of the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville.
