Craig Vick of Colliers International Arkansas (Finalist: Small Private Company CFO)

2 min read

Craig Vick is beginning his fifth year as chief financial officer at Colliers International Arkansas, the state’s largest commercial realty concern.

Two important areas of his work at Colliers are operations, making sure the company is on track to achieve its strategic goals, and property management, providing accounting services for clients. A third involves overseeing financial reporting work for the CapRocq real estate investment funds.

Vick came to Arkansas via Georgia, where he grew up in Snellville, a half-hour east of Atlanta.

“I have always had a fascination with numbers and the stories that they can tell,” Vick said. “When I was younger, I enjoyed keeping up with stats for Braves baseball and the high school basketball team that my dad coached.”

His interest in numbers and business led to a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University at Searcy in 2004.

After graduation, Vick did audit work out of the Little Rock office for Deloitte, primarily banks and insurance companies.

He joined the USA Drug chain as financial reporting manager in 2008 and was named accounting manager 10 months later. A year down the road, Vick was promoted to controller, a position he held until Walgreens acquired USA Drug in 2012.

He stayed with Walgreens for a year to help in the accounting conversion before moving to Colliers, where the role of chief operating officer and director of accounting was combined for his position as CFO.

Vick is a volunteer in the AR Kids Read program, giving time to kids who need some extra help with their reading skills, and as a youth basketball coach at Central Arkansas Christian Schools in North Little Rock.
