The Arkansas Livestock Show Association announced Thursday dates and details for the 81st Arkansas State Fair.
The fair will be held from Oct. 15-24, after last year’s event was canceled because of the pandemic.
Doug White, general manager, said in a news release that the fair will return this fall “in all of its traditional glory,” with a full midway of rides and games, an enhanced food court, free attractions, fair queen and youth talent competitions, music concerts, exhibits and the livestock show.
“We have been working feverishly preparing for a full fair with safety protocols in place in consideration of Covid-19,” he said. “We believe it’s time to get back to a state fair experience that Arkansans have come to expect and enjoy.”
Advance gate admission to the 2021 fair can be purchased online. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Gate admission during the fair will be $12 for adults and $6 for children.
A one-day ride band good for a day of unlimited rides is $30 in advance of the fair. Ride bands purchased during the fair will be $35.
Record crowds are expected this year. The fair is planning to expand existing parking areas and to add a convenient, new premium parking area. General parking will be $10. Premium parking closer to the fair will be $20.
Riley Green, winner of the Academy of Country Music Award for new male artist of the year, is the fair’s 2021 headliner. He will perform on Oct. 23 on the main stage.
“We will announce more concerts in the coming weeks,” White said.
The fair is the state’s largest attraction, drawing an average of more than 430,000 visitors each year.
