Southern Bancorp Community Partners has promoted Dominik Mjartan as its new CEO.
A native of the former Czechoslovakia, Mjartan came to the United States at age 16. He earned a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he was a Donaghey Scholar, and an MBA with distinction from the University of Ulster in the U.K.
Prior to joining Southern Bancorp in 2006, Mjartan was a program director for Perks.com, an IT company that provided services to Fortune 500 companies. He was most recently a senior vice president of Southern Bancorp, the holding company for Southern Bancorp Bank.
SBCP is a development finance partner organization of Southern Bancorp Inc. As its CEO, Mjartan succeeds Tanya Wright, who will continue with SBCP in an executive role. He will also continue to help manage corporate strategy and other corporate functions for the holding company as executive vice president.
