The Downtown Springdale Alliance is scheduling a second round of interviews for its open executive director position.
Outgoing Executive Director Kelly Hale Syer announced her intentions to leave this past summer but has been working with the nonprofit until a permanent replacement is hired. The first round of finalist interviews was held before Christmas.
The search committee is made up of members of the alliance’s board of directors. The alliance is a partnership between various business and community entities to help promote and develop the city’s downtown.
Syer was hired in May 2017 to replace Misty Murphy, the first executive director, who had been hired in 2015. Syer is leaving the DSA to start her own social media consultancy firm, Socialliance.
Syer said she is still putting in a few hours a week with DSA to help the nonprofit stay current on compliance and financial issues. Syer said she helped arrange the first round of interviews and may sit in on the second round to answer any questions related to her experience.
