An aerial view of downtown Little Rock looking northeast across the Arkansas River (Amanda Cordell)
You may have noticed a flock of duck decoys that has descended upon a number of intersections in downtown Little Rock.
The colorful ducks also caught the attention of your Whispers staff, which was determined to get to the bottom of this fowl uprising.
A little birdie (or should we say duckling?) tells us that 20-plus duck decoys have been placed around downtown on traffic light boxes by the Downtown Little Rock Partnership’s Public Spaces Committee.
Is this in anticipation of the coming waterfowl hunting season? A harbinger of a coming announcement?
“No meaning,” our birdie says. “Just some fun to put a small smile on people’s faces.”
