Ecoark Adds 2 to Board

Ecoark Holdings Inc. of Rogers on Thursday announced the addition of Susan Chambers and Steven Nelson to its board of directors, increasing its members to nine.

The company said the two are joining the board following recent organizational changes to streamline operations and focus key subsidiaries on attaining profitability as Ecoark prepares to be uplisted on the Nasdaq Capital Market.

Those changes included:

  • The appointment of Jay Puchir as CEO. He replaced founder Randy May.
  • The election of former Wal-Mart treasurer Charles Rateliff as CFO and treasurer.
  • The appointment of COO Roshan Weerasinghe as CEO of Ecoark subsidiary Pioneer Products.
  • The appointment of senior vice president of business development Gregg Hames as SVP of implementation for Ecoark subsidiary Zest Labs.

May remained chairman of the board.

As for the new board members, Chambers has more than 30 years of experience in the retail industry and previously served as the chief human resource officer for Wal-Mart from 2006 until her retirement in July 2015.

Since then, she’s served as principal of Chambers Consulting LLC.

Chambers also held various other positions at Wal-Mart, including vice president of application development in merchandising & supply chain systems and senior vice president of risk management, retirement & benefits.

Before joining Wal-Mart, she was director of application development at Hallmark Cards Inc.

Chambers is also on the board of directors of USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren.

Nelson brings 35 years of experience as a CPA and experience as controller of a publicly traded company to the board.

He has been a lecturer for the accounting department at the University of Central Arkansas since 2015. Previously, Nelson served as vice president and controller of Dillard’s Inc. of Little Rock.
