Health care practice management firm EngageMED of North Little Rock has named Julie Embry as CEO.
Embry had been interim CEO since November. She stepped into the role after the departure of Daniel Felton, who had led the company since 2016.
Embry brings more than 25 years of experience in health care management to her new role. She joined EngageMED, then known as Arkansas Physician Management Inc., in 2013 and became its chief operating officer in 2018.
In a news release, the company said Embry has played a pivotal role in the organization, overseeing initiatives that strengthened client partnerships, improved revenue cycle performance and advanced operational support for health care providers.
“Julie has demonstrated exceptional leadership, deep knowledge of our organization and a clear vision for the future of healthcare practice management for providers, hospitals and health systems,” EngageMED Chairman Jason Evans said in the release. “We look forward to her continued leadership as she guides EngageMED in delivering innovative services and long-term success for our clients.”
Before joining EngageMED, Embry worked for Community Health Systems as regional division director and director of physician practice management. Before that, she oversaw surgical services at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Her career also includes 17 years at UAMS, where she was an administrator for the departments of emergency medicine and otolaryngology.
“I am honored to lead EngageMED into its next chapter,” Embry said. “As CEO, my priority is to ensure our clients can always count on us to listen closely, respond quickly, and deliver with the hands-on support and expertise that truly make a difference.”
Embry graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a bachelor’s in business management. She earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
