Five years after COVID-19 transformed workplace habits, companies across Arkansas continue to wrestle with how to bring their employees back into the office more. Entergy Arkansas, for its part, has issued a directive: The state’s largest utility has asked its hybrid workers to work from the office one more day each week.
The change, which took effect a few months ago, applies to roughly 200 of Entergy’s 2,800 employees statewide. Most of those 200 office workers had been working at the office two or three days each week.
The move will give a small bump to downtown Little Rock where Entergy Arkansas’ corporate offices are located in the Simmons Tower at 425 W. Capitol Ave.
An Entergy Arkansas spokesman said most of the utility’s employees report to an office, power plant or field location everyday because of the company’s 24/7 mandate to keep the lights on. The other 200 workers will continue to be considered “hybrid.”
“This change is designed to enhance collaboration, support team effectiveness and improve planning in support of our customers,” the spokesman said.
