Remember the Arkansas Department of Health’s BreastCare marketing account that was up for bids last month?
Well, we have some new information.
The department has selected Eric Rob & Isaac of Little Rock to take over the account, which totals about $235,000 a year. If the department continues to renew the contract over a possible seven-year period, then the account is valued at $1.65 million.
Under the contract, the agency would provide services specifically for the BreastCare program, which offers breast and cervical cancer screenings.
You might recall that the Communications Group of Little Rock previously held the account since 2001 with the most recent contract dating back to 2008. The department was required to reopen the contract for bidding because its term was expired.
Communications Group President Dan Cowling said in a statement that he was proud to have worked with the program and that nearly a quarter-million screenings were performed during the agency’s tenure.
Besides the Communications Group and ERI, Martin-Wilbourn Partners and Mangan Holcomb Partners, both of Little Rock, also responded to the department’s RFP.
The department will have to seek legislative approval before a contract with ERI can be finalized.
ERI is on a roll. Last month, the University of Central Arkansas selected the agency to provide marketing and advertising services. That contract had been held by Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods of Little Rock since 2009 and was budgeted at about $800,000 per year.
