Everett Automotive Buys Landers Chevrolet of Benton

2 min read

Everett Automotive Group of Bryant said Tuesday that it has purchased Landers Chevrolet of Benton, which will now operate under the name Everett Chevrolet.

“This acquisition comes at a great time for us,” Dwight Everett, owner of Everett Automotive Group, said in a news release. “2018 is a year that we plan to stay closer to home, closer to the grandkids. This deal allows us to do that while strengthening our presence in central Arkansas.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Privately held Everett purchased the dealership, at 19426 Interstate 30, from Penske Automotive Group of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Update, May 21, 2018: Everett paid $7.5 million for property tied to the dealership.

Everett said that Dee Everett, a former sales manager at Everett Buick GMC of Bryant, had been named executive manager of the Chevrolet dealership.

The Everett group now operates five dealerships: Everett Chevrolet, Everett Buick GMC, Infiniti of Central Arkansas of Benton, Toyota of Paris in Paris, Texas, and Toyota of Mt. Pleasant in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

The company said it employs 275 people in Saline County.

Last month, Everett sold three dealerships in northwest Arkansas to RML Automotive NWA of Little Rock: Everett Buick GMC in Bentonville, Everett Chevrolet in Springdale and Everett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat in Springdale. The dealerships now operate under the name McLarty Daniel.

Arkansas Business reported in 2016 that McLarty Automotive Group was working on a deal to buy Penske Automotive’s Landers franchises in Benton. The deal eventually fell through.

Everett ranks No. 7 on Arkansas Business’ most recent list of the state’s largest private companies with $1.1 billion in revenue in 2016. Last month, publicly traded Penske Automotive Group reported 2016 revenue of $12.4 billion.
