Fair Promotions Draw Record Midweek Crowds

1 min read

A one-two marketing punch helped the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock set attendance records on Wednesday, when a crowd of 34,945 showed up, and Thursday, when 37,027 came to eat, take rides and see the stock.

The counts were the most ever on a Wednesday and Thursday at the state Fairgrounds on Roosevelt Road. Interim fair General Manager Tiffany Wilkerson gave two promotions credit for packing them in on Wednesday, Lunch at the Fair and Ladies Night Out.

On Thursday, College Night and another Lunch at the Fair drew big numbers. The former promotion gave university students with college ID free admission from 6 p.m. to closing. The swine competition was also held at Barton Coliseum.

Friday at the fair is School Day, which offers $3 admission for all school children through 12th grade.

The fair, the state’s largest annual amusement event, continues through Sunday, offering daily promotions, concerts and exhibits. More is available at www.ArkansasStateFair.com.
