First Community Bank of Batesville on Friday marked the start of construction of its third Little Rock location since entering the market in 2017.
The $1.6 billion-asset lender broke ground on a full-service branch at 17820 Chenal Parkway in west Little Rock. Flynco Inc., of Little Rock is the project’s contractor, aiming to complete the two-story,16,000-SF building in the first quarter of 2022.
“Breaking ground on this new banking facility signifies our commitment to, and investment in, the future of this community,” Chairman and CEO Dale Cole said in a news release. “The financial center will create a significant presence in Little Rock and will provide our third location in the greater Little Rock area for clients to conduct business and interact with experienced community bankers.”
Tim Yelvington with RPPY Architects of Little Rock designed the complex, which will include a community room available free of charge to nonprofits and the business community for meeting and training purposes. The room can also be rented for personal events or gatherings, the bank said.
Arkansas Business first reported plans for the new Little Rock branch in October. It will include traditional banking services as well as secondary mortgage home loans, insurance, brokerage and trust services.
In addition to Pulaski County, First Community Bank has locations in Faulkner, Lonoke, Baxter, Craighead, Independence, Jackson, Sharp, Poinsett, Boone and White counties, as well as McDonald and Newton counties in Missouri. It recently announced a property purchase at Harkrider and Polk streets in downtown Conway for a future branch.
The bank reported a profit of $8.2 million through the first half of 2020. Net income totaled $6.7 million for the first six months of 2019.
