As of June 4, Lonoke’s First State Bank had an open position at the top of the organizational chart. David Estes exited as CEO of the $279 million-asset lender.
“After 30 years of service, he stepped down because of health reasons,” said Kevin Scribner, First State’s chief financial officer. No timetable has been set to name a replacement for Estes.
“We’re currently operating without a CEO,” Scribner said. “The board is working to find a suitable replacement.”
First State followed a year-end profit of $772,000 in 2017 with a first-quarter net income of $345,000. The bank operates five full-service branches with a staff of 53. Its offices are in Lonoke, Carlisle, Fayetteville, Heber Springs and Gurdon.
