A series of lawsuits seeking money for unpaid goods and services related to the SQRL convenience store chain recently flowed into Pulaski County Circuit Court.
The smallest of those claims was filed on Oct. 19 by the former owner of two Arkansas convenience stores.
Texas businessman Sohail Karani filed a $60,745 claim against Little Rock’s SQRL Service Stations LLC, led by Joseph Blake Smith.
The lawsuit alleges the money is owed for unpaid assets and bills associated with the $1.1 million sale of the Doublebee’s convenience store at 3097 Hwy. 5 in El Paso (White County) and the $450,000 sale of the Valley Shamrock project at 7726 U.S. 65S in the Valley Springs community south of Harrison.
Fuel and merchandise inventory were itemized as the lion’s share of the claims stemming from those 2022 transactions.
In addition to SQRL, the lawsuit also names an intermediary that facilitated the sale of the two properties: NTX Crew Capital Management LLC/Crew Capital Management LLC of Texas.
Karani also filed the suit on behalf of his DMFS Investments LLC and Valley Springs Investments LLC.
