Arkansas Home Sales Up 10 Percent in July

Arkansas July home sales rose about 10 percent from the same time last year, according to a report released Thursday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

The average price of those homes increased by more than 4 percent, from $163,573 in July 2014 to $170,298 in July 2015. 

Statewide valuations in July increased by more than 14 percent from last year, according to the report, based on a survey of 43 counties.

Benton County topped the charts in each of the six categories on the report. 

In July 2015, 542 units sold in the county, up more than 21 percent from July 2014. Saline County reported 201 units sold, up more than 22 percent from July 2014.

Year to date, agents have sold 3,043 units in Benton County, up 15 percent from last year, and 2,912 units in Pulaski County, up nearly 6 percent.

The highest average home prices for the year have surpassed $200,000, with Benton County at $202,491 for 2015 compared to $190,576 last year.

Garland County showed the greatest percent increase in average home prices for the month at $204,319, a more than 31 percent change from July 2014.

Overall, the statewide average price for the year increased more than 4 percent to $161,749 from $155,021.
