The Arkansas Realtors Association said Wednesday that January home sales in the state rose by more than 9 percent compared to the same month last year.
The report also showed the average price of those homes decreased by less than 4 percent.
The average price of the homes sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the association decreased from $144,797 in January 2015 to $139,420 in January 2016. Statewide valuations in January increased by more than 5 percent from last year.
Pulaski County showed a 34 percent increase in homes sold compared to January 2015, with 321 total. Benton County sold the most units for the month with 328.
Fulton County had the highest average prices for the month: $240,000, a 500 percent increase compared to January 2015.
Benton County’s average prices for the month were about $10,000 higher than 2015, at $189,985.
