Home Sales Up 11 Percent Statewide

Home sales in Arkansas rose 11 percent in February, according to a report Wednesday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

The average price of the homes sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the association decreased to $152,976 in February from $155,901 in February 2015. Statewide valuations for the month increased by more than 9 percent from last year.

In February, 356 units were sold in Pulaski County, up 10 percent from the same month last year. Benton County sold 347 units, up 18 percent from the same month in 2015.

The highest average prices for the month came from Benton County at $202,407, a 3 percent increase compared to 2015. In the No. 2 spot, Cleburne County had an average price of $191,050, an 18 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

Year to date, Benton County has sold 676 units, up nearly 22 percent from the same month in 2015. Statewide, year-to-date home sales are up 9 percent.
