Brandon Horvath is the Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center’s new capital access specialist. He will work out of the lead center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Horvath previously was director of Henderson State University’s ASBTDC regional office.

Bruce Smith, director of the School of Education at UA Little Rock, has been named the interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, faculty relations and administration, effective July 1. The position’s responsibilities include serving as the academics lead as well as the primary academic representative for the multiyear Workday Initiative.
Vess Johnson, assistant professor of business information systems at UA Little Rock, has been appointed the Harper W. Boyd Professor of Excellence for 2020. One of Johnson’s research projects is the annual information technology issues and trends study conducted by the Society of Information Management. Involved in the project since 2013, Johnson is part of a research team that surveys approximately 5,000 chief information officers and IT leaders at companies in the United States.
