John Moore To Lead Helena National Bank, Helena Bancshares Inc.

John Moore has been hired as president and CEO of Helena Bancshares Inc. and Helena National Bank, effective Sept. 24.

The current president, Tommie Shackelford, will continue as an executive officer and director for the bank.

Moore is a native of Helena and most recently served as president of the Northwest Arkansas Region and chief credit officer for Chambers Bank of Danville. He has 15 years of experience in banking.

Prior to that, Moore practiced law as an attorney counseling banks and other financial business entities.

He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Arkansas’s Sam M. Walton College of Business and hold a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing. Moore received his Juris Doctor of Law from the University of Arkansas William H. Bowen School of Law in 1998.

Helena National Bank is a full-service community bank with three locations in Helena-West Helena and one location in each of the communities of Marion (under the trade name of Crittenden National Bank), Marvell and Wynne. As of June 30, it had $182.8 million in assets. Earlier this month, the bank announced plans to convert to a state bank charter and to rebrand all locations to HNB Bank.
