1 min read

The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday announced John Owens as its new president and CEO, replacing Terry Hartwick, who has taken over management of the city’s parks and recreation department.

Owens will begin work on Feb. 22.

Owens is currently president of Hortus Ltd., P. Allen Smith Cos. There, he oversees finance, marketing, sales, tours and events, annual budgeting, strategic planning and other activities.

“John has the experience and skill set to help the chamber continue its leadership position developed in the last 15 years,” Toby Burkett, the chamber’s 2016 chairman of the board, said in a news release.

Owens was previously president, vice chairman and co-founder of Crossmark, a sales and marketing services company, and CEO for Zoots Inc. and Sun & Earth.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as president/CEO of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce,” he said. “I believe successful businesses build stronger communities, and I look forward to working with the chamber’s board of directors and local business leaders to achieve the goals of the chamber.”
