Gov. Asa Hutchinson has appointed Dr. Matthew McDonough of Jonesboro to the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners.
His term expires Sept. 1, 2022, and McDonough replaces Dr. Richard Smith.
McDonough is an Arkansas State University alum. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis in 2007. McDonough completed residency training and received his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2013.
He is also a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He practices in Jonesboro.
The State Board of Dental Examiners regulates the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene and dental assisting by examining applicants for competency and issuing licenses to candidates meeting the requirements of the State and the Board. More than 5,000 individuals hold a current license or permit issued by the Board of Dental Examiners.
