A former assistant news director at KAIT-TV, Channel 8 in Jonesboro is returning to the station as news content director.
Josh White, who is assistant news director at WFIE in Evansville, Indiana, and a native of Blytheville, will start Feb. 23, KAIT vice president and general manager Chris Conroy said in an email. White had served as assistant news director at KAIT from November 2008 to August 2013 and replaces Hatton Weeks, who was hired as news director at WLBT-TV and Mississippi News Now in Jackson, Mississippi.
“Josh is Region 8. His Leadership as Assistant Director in our Newsroom along with his vast experience and journalistic instinct make him a perfect fit to come home to Region 8 and lead our news operation. We are happy to have him home,” Conroy said in a statement.
White has 15 years of experience in television and has worked in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri and South Carolina. He has worked for Raycom Media, which owns KAIT, since 2008, the station said in a news release.
“Returning home to Region 8 to run the News Content operation at KAIT is a dream come true,” White said in the news release. “I have really enjoyed working with the team at WFIE and will deeply miss working together and I look forward to returning to the familiar faces at KAIT and getting to know the new faces too.”
