Steve Jonsson, president and CEO of Signal Media of Arkansas Inc. of Little Rock, on Thursday named Justin Acri general manager of KABZ-FM, 103.7 (The Buzz), effective Monday.
Acri, who has worked for Signal Media for 15 years, has most recently been the sports-talk station’s program director and co-host of “The Zone.” Acri’s promotion was among several announced this week.
“I am honored to be entrusted with this new responsibility at The Buzz,” Acri said in a news release. “I have been fortunate to be surrounded in my time here by dedicated co-workers who help our station have a positive impact on our listeners, clients and community.”
Acri started at Signal Media in 2003 as a part-time morning show host. In 2006, he left his main job at ABC affiliate KATV-TV, Channel 7, to work full time at Signal as program director and on-air personality.
Also this week, Jonsson announced that Lindy Lanford will return to the company as marketing and events consultant. Lanford left the company in January 2012 to purchase The Bridal Cottage in North Little Rock, which she still owns.
The company also said Derrell Young had been promoted to operations director from executive producer. RJ Hawk, producer of KABZ’s morning show, “The Show with No Name,” will be taking on more responsibility as social media director.
Independently owned Signal has three local stations, including KKPT-FM, 94.1 (The Point), and KHLR-FM, 106.7 (The Ride).
