Kelly Eichler to Leave Sanders Administration

1 min read

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Deputy Chief of Staff Kelly Eichler is leaving her administration.

Eichler, who was a policy director for former Gov. Asa Hutchinson and a criminal justice adviser for former Gov. Mike Huckabee, is departing the Sanders administration for “new opportunities,” the governor’s office said in a news release.

Sanders named Jamie Barker, the governor’s current director of legislative affairs, as her new deputy chief of staff. Judd Deere also has that title and will remain with the administration.

In a statement, Sanders said Eichler was “instrumental” to the passage of her education reform package and two tax cuts.

“We are sad to see her go but are excited for the new opportunities this next chapter in her career will bring,” Sander said. “Jamie Barker was also a key player in this year’s legislative wins as my Director of Legislative Affairs and will continue to help us shake the broken status quo as Kelly’s replacement.

Chafer Stanley will succeed Barker as director of legislative affairs. He currently serves policy adviser on agriculture, energy, environment, and regulatory affairs.

Jack Sisson, who serves as the governor’s policy director, will become the governor’s senior adviser for health care.

Selby Tucker, who serves as the governor’s policy adviser for budget, economic development and tax, will become the governor’s budget director.

Morgan Warbington, who serves as Sanders’ policy advisor for education, will become the governor’s director of faith-based initiatives and special projects.
