Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville has hired Kelly Zega to be its director of development. Zega, 47, is scheduled to begin Sept. 28.
Zega has been the director of public relations for Cox Communications in Arkansas for the past decade. Zega said Crystal Bridges contacted her about the position, and, though she said she was happy at Cox, she couldn’t resist the chance to work at the museum.
“My primary role is to develop relationships on behalf of the museum,” Zega said. “I’ve been in love with Crystal Bridges since before it was born. Nothing can hold a candle to Crystal Bridges.”
Zega said she will work with a team of three and report to Jill Wagar, the museum’s director of advancement.
