Springdale’s Kimbel Mechanical Systems is focused on growing better employees, and satisfied employees lead to customer satisfaction.
“One of our primary aims as an organization is to love and support our team members and their families,” CEO Brad Smith said. “How well we fulfill that charge ultimately determines how willing they are to buy into our corporate vision and, in turn, how successful we will be as an organization.”
Kimbel shows its love with some nice perks and benefits but its focus on creating a team atmosphere is perhaps what most sets it apart.
“We believe that our success is directly relational to the culture we have created here at Kimbel,” Smith said. “We are passionate about creating a team atmosphere where our employees have a sense of purpose as they witness their efforts expand our company into new markets, bigger projects, and larger clients.
“Feeling the upward mobility, and enjoying being a part of the growth, creates a sense of destiny, cultivating an expectation to do better by staying with the company and succeeding together.”
Kimbel hires employees for who they are as opposed to what they bring, and provides them with the internal support to excel in their fields.
“When someone walks in the door, unfamiliar with Kimbel or unskilled, we provide them a line of sight from where they begin in our company all the way to senior leadership,” Smith said. “We work hand in hand with our team members establishing real, attainable goals. Kimbel has been blessed with an excellent team of hard working individuals who want to succeed not only in their careers but in life.”
Kimbel provides the education, leadership tools and licensing assistance to help employees succeed. That commitment not only helps grow a better company, but benefits the construction industry and the communities that Kimbel serves.
We firmly believe that the better we love our people, the better we will perform as a company.
— Brad Smith, CEO
Neat Thing We Do
Kimbel employees work hard, and several times a year the company affords them the chance to play hard. One particularly popular event is Kimbel’s annual spring Crawfish Boil, where employees and their families come together to eat, play games (including bouncy houses and mobile basketball goals for the kids) and have fun. The 2015 event included 400 pounds of spicy, hot “mudbugs.” For those who enjoy a more beefy taste, the Feltner Brothers food truck was on hand to provide all-you-can-eat burgers and fries.
