In radio news, KUAR-FM, 89.1, has created an online store.
Development Director Sarah Donaghy said in an email that the station launched the store in response to requests from listeners. Sales are expected to provide “an additional, though modest, revenue source,” she said.
“We think the items in the store speak to the interests of public radio listeners, and we look forward to seeing KUAR t-shirts, shopping bags, and water bottles around town soon,” Donaghy said.
Donaghy said the station’s fiscal year started this month and that fundraising overall is on track. Fundraising for the month of July is also ahead of last year, which Donaghy said the station attributes to donors who contribute monthly, as opposed to annual donations.
