Steel fabricator Lexicon Inc. of Little Rock isn’t done expanding. CEO Patrick Schueck gave Whispers a “teaser” in a recent interview.
“Expect something in the next year, year-and-a-half on Lexicon University,” he said. That’s the company’s workforce development program. “We’re making a strong play on it, because we believe in it.”
As far as Lexicon’s recently announced $37.6 million expansion, Schueck also gave more details about updates to the company’s current facilities.
An outdoor work space with a connected canteen is being added to the corporate office, as well as a new face on the front of the building that will showcase the quality of the company’s steel workmanship.
The expansion will also allow for the company’s data and analytics department to relocate to the Port of Little Rock. Currently, Lexicon leases a full floor of the Cadence Bank Building at 2800 Cantrell Road in Little Rock. “That was too far away for me,” Schueck said.
He also said the expansion will allow Lexicon to process more steel safely, make aspects of its steel fabrication more efficient and be better for the environment.
“We’re going to see future expansion, too. We haven’t stopped,” Schueck said. “We’ve got a couple of other tricks up our sleeves. We’re going to move some stuff around.”
