2 min read

Heritage Links, the golf course construction, renovation and management division of Lexicon Inc. of Little Rock, has announced the acquisition of Environmental Solutions Inc. of Yarmouth, Maine, a golf course irrigation, drainage, site design and construction firm.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ina news release, Heritage Links President Jon O’Donnell said the acquisition positions the company to grow in strategic markets, such as the Carolinas and the Southeast, and expands Heritage Links’ resources, knowledge and expertise.

“Most importantly,” he said, “this acquisition will allow us to provide our clients with even greater service and an unmatched level of expertise in the industry.”

Warren Michaelsen founded Environmental Solutions in 1986 as Irrigation Systems of Maine in response to a demand for irrigation system installations and service in the area. The company grew its offerings over the years to include golf course irrigation installation and service, golf drainage systems, golf-site construction and golf pump stations, completing projects such as the Mount Washington Resort in New Hampshire; Long Island National in New York; Congaree Golf Club and Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina; TPC Sawgrass, The Windsor Club and the Ocean Reef Club in Florida; and Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.

Today, Environmental Solutions employs a staff of nearly 40 and has revenue of around $10 million, according to the release.

“We have enjoyed a long working relationship with Heritage Links, and we are pleased to merge our teams,” Michaelsen said. “This partnership will allow us to collaborate on key projects in the U.S. and beyond and expand our offerings while retaining our company’s footprint and staff. We are excited for all the new opportunities this collaboration will bring.”

Heritage Links is a charter member of the Golf Course Builders Association of America. It offers services including new course construction; renovation and restoration; irrigation installation; sports field construction; and construction management.
