In print news, there are some staff changes at the Log Cabin Democrat to report.
Publisher Zach Ahrens said he has been pleased with recent adjustments in the newsroom that phased out the editor role as a standalone position.
Daily readers of the Faulkner County newspaper may have already been aware of the shift, but in an interview last week, Ahrens said that Richard Duke was out as editor.
In his place, Ahrens said, the newspaper has created a new position called vice president of audience.
Kelly Sublett, who was most recently working as a public affairs officer at the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, was hired on for the new role.
Sublett has also worked as the social and digital media director at the Arkansas Times and at newspapers in East Texas, Ahrens said.
Ahrens said that Sublett will coordinate between the newsroom and the “more digital” side of the business.
“It really helps us in the transformation of our operation of the Log Cabin into becoming an even more relevant multimedia and digital organization,” Ahrens said.
