Maverick USA of North Little Rock
Maverick USA Inc., the parent company of Maverick Transportation LLC in North Little Rock, announced this week its acquisition of family-owned boat hauling company Marine Transport Inc. in Au Gres, Michigan.
Maverick said the assets it received included about 25 tractors and 80 trailers.
Wayne Bigelow, Marine’s founder and owner, will be retiring. His son, Bryan, will join Maverick and continue to work out of the office in Au Gre, the companies said.
“As the trucking industry continues to focus on safety and improvements, increasing regulations continue to be introduced,” Wayne Bigelow said. “With these changes and along with my desire to retire, our family has decided that our employees will be better served in a larger organization that can support the regulatory changes and continue to grow the business.”
Maverick President John Culp said in the release, “We are very excited to make this addition to our Dedicated Service offerings and expand our service footprint in the boat/marine business.”
