Education
Angi McDaniel has been promoted to associate director of marketing in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Office of Communications & Marketing. She will direct day-to-day operation of the creative division, provide assistance to the director of marketing in the creative development of marketing materials and serve as an account executive in developing and supervising work for clients. McDaniel started at UAMS in 2007 as production manager for the creative division, and was promoted to director in 2010. She became director of client services in 2013.
Health Care
Michael Barth has joined Epoch Men’s Health in Conway as a physician assistant. Barth earned his physician assistant’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Hendrix College in Conway. He completed clinical rotations in urology, primary care, emergency medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics and general surgery.
Insurance
Dr. Lubna Maruf has joined QualChoice in Little Rock as a medical director, overseeing medical policy. Maruf joins QualChoice following 15 years as a primary care internist and lead physician at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
Nonprofits
Allison Phelps has joined United Way of North Central Arkansas as executive director. She previously served as director of programs and events with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and has experience in strategic planning and fundraising.
Financial Services
Thomas McCain and Lynn Ross have joined Millennium Capital Advisors in Little Rock. McCain will serve as senior vice president and registered investment adviser with a primary focus on wealth management for individuals and families, corporations, endowments and personal estate clients. He has more than 25 years of investment experience, including trading and private client management, most recently as senior vice president with Metropolitan Capital Management, now known as Simmons First Capital Management. Ross, with more than 25 years of experience in client services and compliance, has joined MCA as client services officer. She previously worked as the compliance and client services officer for Metropolitan Capital Management, now known as Simmons First Capital Management.
Architecture
Mark Cahoon, principal at CahoonSteiling Architecture of Jonesboro, has been elected president of the Arkansas chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Cahoon has been a member of the AIA since 1980 and previously was a member of the board of directors, chairman of the state convention, design awards chairman and east Arkansas section chairman of AIA Arkansas. Other elected officers include Timothy Maddox of deMx Architecture of Fayetteville, vice president; Travis Bartlett of MAHG Architecture of Fort Smith, treasurer; Randy Palculict of Jackson Brown Palculict Architects of Little Rock, secretary; and Wesley Walls of Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects Inc. of Little Rock, past president.
