The University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College announced that Melissa Hendricks has been named vice chancellor of advancement and executive director of the UA-PTC Foundation, where she’ll oversee all fundraising and private gift administration.
In her new role, Hendricks will also oversee special event management and have administrative responsibilities at the Center for Humanities and Arts Theater and Windgate Art Gallery.
The move is effective Tuesday.
Hendricks joins Pulaski Tech from the nonprofit Centers for Youth and Families in Little Rock, where she had been director since 2018. She was previously a grants and major gifts officer for Pulaski Tech She also served as Grants and Major Gifts Officer at Pulaski Technical College from 2006-2013, during which time she raised $22.3 million through federal and foundation grant funding.
“Melissa’s extensive track record of success in fundraising is truly impressive,” Summer DeProw, chancellor of Pulaski Tech, said in a statement. “Likewise, her deep ties to the central Arkansas business community will enhance UA-Pulaski Tech’s vital role in preparing graduates for the workforce.”
Hendricks has served on the Little Rock Port Authority board of directors since 2011, including serving as chair from 2018-2020. She served on the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce board of directors from 2018-2020.
Hendricks holds a master’s in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a bachelor’s in journalism/public relations from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
