Mercy Clinic-Fort Smith to Build $7.9M Clinic Near Osteopathic College

1 min read

Mercy Clinic-Fort Smith will build a $7.9 million, 13,500-SF clinic across the street from the planned Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine on Chad Colley Boulevard in Chaffee Crossing.

The clinic will be done in collaboration with the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, which will operate the college. The clinic will have 28 exam rooms, eight physicians and 30 staff members.

The clinic will support the college’s residency training program.

“Our newest clinic will not only care for the acute needs of patients in our community today, it will also be a teaching ground for a generation of students that will be the face of tomorrow’s health care,” Mercy Clinic President Cole Goodman said in a statement.

The college is under construction and scheduled to open in 2016.

“ACHE is dedicated to using the 228 acres at Chaffee Crossing to further its mission,” said Kyle Parker, CEO of ACHE. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Mercy Clinic and other members of the Fort Smith and Barling communities to improve health and access to care.”
