Movie Tavern is one step closer to opening at Little Rock’s Gateway Town Center.
A $9.8 million building permit has been taken out with the city for the 45,649-SF project at 11300 Bass Pro Parkway.
You may recall that we first shared details about the 11-screen dine-in movie destination back in August 2016.
Each of those screens will have full-service dining and reclining seats, a total of almost 1,100 of them. Back then, Movie Tavern’s vice president of marketing expected the project to open in the third or fourth quarter of 2017. That’s obviously not going to happen, but an email to the chain wasn’t returned as of press time.
Movie Tavern’s menu varies slightly from location to location, but each location offers full-service casual dining. The chain has 22 theaters and 198 digital screens in nine states. Its Little Rock location would bring that to 10. Movie Tavern is owned by VSS-Southern Theaters LLC, based in New Orleans.
A Dec. 4 post on the Facebook page of Movie Tavern Little Rock says the company is looking for employees.
