Municipal League Recognizes Lane, Ellington (Movers & Shakers)

Kirk Lane and Scott Ellington were honored recently at the Arkansas Municipal League’s 84th convention in Little Rock.

Lane, who serves as Arkansas drug director, received the John Woodruff City Above Self Award for providing “lasting benefits” to Arkansas communities.

Ellington, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas’ 2nd Judicial District, was named Person of the Year by the league for making the filing of opioid litigation possible.


Melissa Hendricks has been elected chair of the Little Rock Port Authority board; her term will be July 2018 through June 2019. She was appointed to the board in 2011 and has served as treasurer, vice chairman and chair of the external affairs committee.

Hendricks is currently the executive director of the Centers for Youth & Families Foundation. She has over 20 years of experience in public relations, communications, grant writing, fundraising and nonprofit management, and has worked in development positions at the St. Vincent Foundation, Pulaski Technical College and Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services.
